REFLECTION

God Knows

by Jennifer Jerrome

God knows we have questions. And if we ask them, He will answer. Let me repeat… if we ask, He WILL answer. Maybe not the way we want or as fast as we’d like, but He hears us. Our questions and concerns do not go unnoticed.

Questions often come when we’re feeling sadness, pain, or grief. We don’t tend to ask a lot when we’re happy. It’s when things are a mess that we cry out, “What does this mean? Why is this happening?”

Walking through these tough times with Jesus brings new life. Just like He answered his friends, “Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.” (v. 22)

One day all our questions will be answered. All will be revealed and there will be no more doubt, but until then we’re going to have pain and despair. We may not understand it now, but there is a purpose. God knows; He sees, He hears, and He answers.

Even when we think he’s gone – He’s right there in the mess.

Psalm 34:18 says:

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."

The Message translation speaks volumes:

"If your heart is broken, you’ll find God right there; if you’re kicked in the gut, he’ll help you catch your breath."

Let me say that again… He’ll help you catch your breath.

PRAYER PRACTICE

Breathe and know you’re not alone. You may not understand everything that’s going on in your life, but pray. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

Saw a post recently that says that when you breath, that is EVERYONE even the unbelievers, you say God’s name! Breathe in YAH. Breathe out WAY. Try it. He is with us in every breath we take
