We all have Bible verses we reach for when life feels hard, confusing, or overwhelming. Sometimes those beloved verses evolve into familiar slogans. They are words we cling to. We put them on t-shirts, posters, and bumper stickers. But when verses become slogans, they can lose the power God meant them to have.

This series looks at some of the most commonly quoted verses in Scripture and asks what happens when we slow down and read them in context. Each week we’ll look at the human need that helps explain why a verse becomes so popular, and discover how the full message of Scripture meets those needs in deeper and more lasting ways.
