REFLECTION
Refuge and Hope
By Judy Webb
Doesn't it seem like there is never a dull moment? Life is peppered with highs and lows and all things in between. Just when you think it couldn't get worse, covid 19 popped into our lives and we were faced with a new enemy. Or maybe the same enemy just a new presentation. Many of us couldn't discern right from wrong or truth from lies. We wanted answers, we needed answers to the question, "What is true?" Believers were instructed to search the scriptures for that illusive reality. There were so many questions during that season of doubt.

If we did turn to scripture and happened upon Hebrews 6:19, we learned there are two unchangeable things: it is impossible for God to lie. His promise and His oath are the solid foundation we seek; the truth we thirst for and the encouragement believers long to embrace. We all need hope as we seek refuge when faced with these new enemies.
The truth is, there is so much good news when we search for it; when we open our Bibles, or when we join a study group. Truth smacks us in the face. Words of hope can heal and direct us on the path of light. When the darkness of our world overtakes the place where we stand, just move over a bit and let God's light shine through the cracks of life. Know this: the Believer is eternally secure! Because Christ is our refuge, we are anchored in a safe place of absolute truth.
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure." (Hebrews 6:19)
September 10, 2025, another event rocked our world and this time it has pointed us to the absolute truth of Jesus. Lives will change; some already have. Just hold on for a bit, follow that light and see what is right before your eyes. Watch how God moves. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to is good purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
Be our guide, our light and our witness. Show us where we fall short and shine your light on the path we must take. Thank you for all the Saints you have placed before us, to teach and preach about your love. Amen

What tremendously useful advice: "When the darkness of our world overtakes the place where we stand, just move over a bit and let God's light shine through the cracks of life." Thank you for encouraging me to move!
Judy,
Well done good and faithful servant, a humbling review! "An anchor is only as secure as that to which it is fastened."
