REFLECTION
Amazingly Amazing
By Gene Pierce
The Bible tell us many stories of how God works in our world via physical, tangible things.
Abraham moved his tents at God’s command.
Moses used frogs, bugs and a wooden stick to lead the Hebrews out of Egypt.
David killed a giant with a smooth rock.
Jesus made wine in clay jars, healed the blind with dirt and saliva and died on a wooden cross.
On the other hand, this chapter of Revelation shows us how God’s spiritual powers go beyond our physical, tangible world -- waaaay beyond.
When the angel says, “I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb,” a giant, perfect city comes “out of heaven from God” and replaces our world.
This City has no Temple made of stone, “because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb of God are its Temple.”
There is no sun because God’s light overwhelms all darkness and all the nations come into that light.
These verses show us that, as amazed as we ought to be with God’s miracles in our physical world, they barely scratch the surface of God’s spiritual powers.
These verses should be like when someone lost in a maze gets an aerial view of their predicament and with it their way to safety. They are relieved, happy and walking as fast as they can to get out of the confusion and frustration.
God’s “Big Picture” in Revelation 21 should be applied to the maze that is our daily life.
He is light and truth. We are not.
He keeps his promises. We do not.
He redeems His City through the blood of the Lamb. We cannot heal ourselves.
Make sure you tap into the spiritual reality that God offers. Let it lead you through this world and into His amazingly, incredibly wonderful City – and have your name written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
PRAYER
Lord open my eyes to see your power and blessings, and let your power guide me every day. Give us your light and peace and bring us to your eternal City. Amen.

The analogy of the maze makes this easier to understqnd. Thank you, Gene.
A very easy to read and understand devotional, Gene. I like your use of bullet points to give emphasis to key facts. Good job.
