THE 7TH TRUMPET TRANSFORMATION

By Vincent Jerrome

After seemingly unending tribulation and destruction, the kingdom of the world finally becomes as it was always meant to be: The kingdom of the Lord. The Seventh Trumpet loudly proclaims for all; the destruction of this world is to be reborn into a new and perfect creation. All the destroyers themselves will no longer reign. Christ alone reigns after the glorious sound of the final trumpet. The elders rightly fall and worship!

After the elders fall to praise his holy name and proclaim the righteous deeds soon to take place, the temple in heaven is opened. The Ark of the Covenant is seen. This mirrors the very moment the vail of the temple in Jerusalem was torn in two, just as Jesus breathed his last. The Holy of Holies, only allowed for one, is now finally shown to all. Our sinful debt paid for with the earthly judgement and bodily destruction of our Lord and Savior on the cross. An act that has united us eternally.

An Ancient Israelite like John would be no stranger to the sound of 7 trumpets transforming chaos and death into unity and prosperity. It was the 7th trumpet that brought down the walls of Jericho. This came after 40 years of painful wandering in the desert, in which the Ark of the Covenant was created before them. This very story may be the first thing that would come to John's mind. The Temple doors in heaven open with the 7th trumpet, just as the walls of Jericho fall with their 7th sound. God revealing himself to us completely in a final and magnificent way. We have now entered into the full reign of the Lord through his only Son. We are his Kingdom. Complete and perfect unity in him comes at the final judgement of the world. We know his blood will cleanse us as we arrive.

The reign of the Lord does not come easy. Just as the fall of Jericho came through war and great struggle in the desert. The Israelites knew it must have taken place to fulfill the Lord's covenant.

Just as Christ's life was set for death from the very start, we as Christians know that all must have taken place so we could say he is risen! The temple is open, the tomb is empty, praise be to the Lord! We are his kingdom, and he shall reign forever and ever! The 7th Trumpet has sounded!

PRAYER

Lord, thank you for the trials and tribulation. As we know, all of these must take place to come into your reign. The birthing pains, the growing signs, the storm before your great rainbow. Keep us steadfast in faith through it all. Keep our eyes set on you and your will. Give us ears to hear the glorious sound of the trumpets. And not to fear, as we know what comes when all things are completed. Amen.
