"They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads." (Revelation 22:4)
Many years ago when the Left Behind series was popular, I was hooked on those books. I know they are works of fiction, but the enthralling story line, the idea that God was real and going to return for us one day, had me captivated. It was these books that pointed me to the Bible. I wanted to learn more, and I wanted to read the exciting stories it contained for myself.
One of the last books in this series finds a main character caught up by the evil one and put in the position of deciding if she would save her life and accept the mark of the beast, or lose her life for Jesus, by proclaiming Him as her savior. She chose the best way, but it caused me to think and ask myself, would I? How do I find a faith that removes all doubt from my mind and only chooses Jesus every time?
In the Book of Exodus, we find Moses having to cover his face with a veil while God passed by him. The intense light would have been deadly. That is why we learn that no one can view God and live. Matthew 5:8 says, “Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.” This tells me that the veil will be removed when we get to paradise. God’s name will be on our foreheads, we will belong to God in paradise.
“For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face.” 1 Corinthians 13:12
Let's plan to chose Jesus every time!
PRAYER PRACTICE
Sit in silence, asking God simply to fill you with His Spirit. If your mind runs back to sin, shame, anxiety, or concerns of the day, flip your hands back over and pour it out to the Lord. Prepare to take a stand with Jesus and against Satan and his world of sin and suffering. Open your hands to accept the love of Jesus our Savior.
