REFLECTION
TITLE

"You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You." (Isaiah 26:3)
There are times when I open a scripture passage and before long I realize God is speaking to me and affirming something I just read, or thought, or prayed about. It is those moments I feel a sense of being on the same page with Him. I love these special moments yet realize that I am not special because I am still a sinner; but I am certainly blessed by these moments of peace. For that is what they are: moments of peace.

Over this past year I am sure you have experienced those times when you realize just how loud and disturbing our world is becoming. Everyone wants to have a voice and wants to be heard, so there is a lot of shouting. It is no wonder peace is attractive to many of us. The scripture above addresses ‘perfect peace’. What is perfect peace? How does one obtain it and then keep hold of it? Perfect peace is internal peace as one source puts it. Not necessarily life without any anxiety or a life which is always easy and perfect.
Those who trust totally on Him, whose focus is on the Lord, experience perfect peace. Contemplating this word, peace, given the state of the loud world we live in, consider the verses from Philippians 4:7-8 and see if you don’t feel peaceful.
“And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus…Finally brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things.”
These words have truly helped me embrace a new attitude and enjoy a fresh look at the world around. Peace is ours for the asking; all we need to do is believe in Jesus and follow His way. All the clamor of our noisy world will fade into the background as we are immersed in perfect peace. May the God of peace be with you.

PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, our Peace and joy. Help each of us embrace your perfect peace. Teach us to seek it as things get loud all around us. Your peace is so different from any peace the world offers. Perfect peace can only come from You. Amen.
