REFLECTION
What A Day!
By Judy Webb
“After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and people and languages, standing before the throne and before the lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands …” (Revelation 7:9)

(ESV)
Who can stand? This question was asked at the conclusion of chapter 6. Verse 11 of Chapter 7 points to the angels, standing around the throne and around the elders (church). They are in the midst of the great tribulation, this great multitude. It is as if they are celebrating, praising and worshipping much like on Palm Sunday.
John can’t identify this multitude except he can tell they are a mixed variety of all nations, colors and languages. An elder identifies them as saved survivors of the great tribulation. Can’t you hear that song in the background…”and the Angels sing, holy, all creation cries, holy? “
This must be quite a celebration of praise and thanksgiving. A moment only God in Heaven could command. What a day that must have been and again will be. John witnessed such a great scene; and was privileged with a front row seat. Exciting and probably scary at the same time.
PRAYER
Father,
What a day that will be! The day when you return to gather up your people. The day we are united with you in Heaven and all our troubles are gone. Only love and praise and worship to fill our hearts. What a day Indeed! Amen.
