First Communion Class and Services

At UALC, First Communion classes are designed with children in 2nd and 3rd grade in mind. The class is open to children 2nd-5th grade. Parents with children in middle school should reach out to our Middle School Director, Mary Kate Hipp.

This year's Parent & Child class will be held on Sunday, October 25 from 6:00-7:30 pm at our Lytham Road Campus (directly following Trunk or Treat). The parent and child portion of this class will cover some hands-on discovery of what Communion is, at an age-appropriate level. 

This class will be followed up with a special Seder (Passover) meal and Communion bread baking at the home of a UALC host family. This will allow children the opportunity to make the connections between the Old Testament foundations of the Communion meal and the application it now has in our lives through the work of Christ and his Church. 

The First Communion Service will be on Sunday, November 8 at 9:00 and 11:00 am, at both our Mill Run and Lytham Road campuses. When you select the worship community you attend in the form below, please be sure to select the same campus at which you would like your child to receive his/her First Communion.

Cost: $27 includes class materials and Luther's Small Catechism for Kids*
