SON Ministries Full Family ESL (English as a Second Language) Program in Partnership with UALC

A full family program for ages 3 months – grandparent age. Adults learn English while their children, ages 3 months – high school, enjoy early literacy, tutoring/homework help and pro-social recreation programming. UALC Bed Brigade

A volunteer group that provides simple, handmade bed frames, mattresses and bedding to those in need in our communities. Contact Dale Cory, BedBrigade@ualc.org, dcory2015@gmail.com.
 

West Inter-Faith Free Legal Clinic

Serving Our Neighbors (SON) Ministries, in partnership with the Columbus Bar Association (CBA), offers a monthly, free legal clinic for free legal advice given by attorneys who are members of CBA. To qualify, clients must have income no more than 250% above the federal poverty guidelines. Offered on the third Tuesday of every month, 5:30-7:00 pm at Mill Run. Food Pantries

The Lutheran Social Services Food Pantry serves the hungry around central Ohio. Pantries are located at 1460 S. Champion Ave. and 2373 Sullivant Ave. Visit the LSS Website here for information. Contact Lutheran Social Services of Central Ohio, 614-443-5130.
 

Hilliard Helps Resource System

SON Ministries' Hilliard Free Lunch Summer Camp for Kids Program

A USDA Summer Food Service Program partnership between Serving Our Neighbors (SON) Ministries and UALC for children in Hilliard, Powell and Hilltop, ages 1-18, who are facing poverty. We serve in many offsite locations in the summer months. Children also join camp with crafts, games, books and supervised activities. Contact Kim Emch, kemch@ualc.org.
 

UALC Community Garden

The Community Garden at Mill Run supplies fresh produce for individuals and families at Serving Our Neighbors (SON) Ministries’ Hilliard Free Lunch Summer Camp for Kids program, the Hilltop, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, and through Faith Mission. For vegetables, or to help in the garden (full families welcome), contact our garden stewards with any questions. Todd Marti, todd-kelly@columbus.rr.com or Irma Chon, irma@ccfhilliard.org. Come on out on Saturday mornings starting at 9:00 am, we have all the tools you'll need, (early spring-late fall).
 

Celebrate Recovery

A Christian, 12-step program dealing with all sorts of hurts, habits and hang-ups. Weekly meetings on Thursdays, 7:00 pm at Lytham Road. Find details. Confidential email, cr@ualc.org
 

Coats for Kids

The people of UALC generously donate funds every fall so that winter jackets can be purchased and donated to "dignity stores" where families facing poverty in Hilliard can purchase new coats for their children at a drastically reduced price. Angel Tree
