What Do We Hope You Will Experience on Sunday Morning?

In the 1980s, there was a dramatic event off Point Barrow, Alaska. Three gray whales were icebound, injured and weary, gasping for air through a hole in the ice. Their only hope was to get five miles under the ice pack back out to open sea. Rescuers began cutting a string of breathing holes in the 6-inch thick ice about 20 yards apart. For eight days they coaxed the whales from one hole to the next, mile after mile. The whales vanished for a while, but finally, with the help of Russian icebreakers, two of them swam to freedom.
In a way, worship is like that. It is a “breathing hole” the Lord provides for His people. We come together on Sundays, weary from working in a world frozen over with selfishness, greed, and struggle. Worship is a way we get a breath of heavenly air. This “air” is the grace of God – the assurance we are loved by Him in Christ along with the encouragement of others along on the journey. Renewed, we then go back “under” for another week to live and work for God in the world. Please come and join us for fresh air!
