Weekly UALC Prayer Requests

We corporately lift up prayer requests each week. Join us as we come before our Father with petitions and praises. We welcome anyone to join our group who prays regularly for the needs of the church. You can sign up here and receive the weekly prayer request by email.

This week, January 14-20, remember to pray for:
• MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers); pray for this ministry that provides twice a month social, physical, spiritual and creative opportunities for moms with young children. Ministry Leader is Laura Natalie.
• Hispanic Church of Columbus; pray as they use our Mill Run facility on Sunday afternoons. Ask that God will meet them in worship as the Holy Spirit fills and leads their gathering.
• LIFEwalk; pray for this Bible-based prayer ministry to encourage people going through a difficult time. Trained ministers meet to listen and pray with a person in need for 9-12 weeks. Team Leader is Kim Greene.
• Fitness Ministries; pray for Men over 30 Basketball (Dave Charlson), Tae Kwon Do for ages 8-adult (Angie Edmonds) and ages 5-8 (Kelly Mikhail), Tai Chi and Yoga (Pam Mann), Refit® (Stacey Swanson) and Christian Yoga (Julie Carter, Stephanie Schroer). Pray for safety and the joy of playing and exercising together in a Christian environment.
• Lower Lights Christian Health Center; pray for this ministry as they provide overt witness to Jesus Christ by providing health care for the poor and underprivileged, especially in Franklinton and the Hilltop.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to teach us as we awaken each day how loved we are by our heavenly Father.

Last week, January 7-13, remember to pray for:
• Alpha; pray for this ministry that starts the 14th. Ask God to use invitations to draw new people to this relaxed dinner, presentation and discussion of basic Christianity. Ministry Leaders are Bill Nyberg and Alan Starr.
• Next Step Workshop; pray for Middle School students and their parents as this month they discover why and how we pray by examining the Lord’s Prayer. Parents will be encouraged and equipped as the primary former of faith to take it home and live it out with their children. Ministry Leader is Kelsey Payne.
• UALC Council; pray for our leadership team. Ask God to anoint them and in their meetings (prayer first Tues. of the month, business on the third Tues.) give them a strong sense of His leading. Pray for the Spirit to build a close fellowship as they give of themselves to this crucial task. Chair is Steve Bruns.
• SON Ministry ESL Program; pray for the outreach of this ministry to ages 3 months–grandparents. Adults learn English while their children of all ages enjoy early literacy, tutoring/homework help and pro-social recreation programming. Ministry Leaders are Pastor Dave Mann and Trish Barnett.
• Heart to Honduras Mission Team; pray for the UALC team who will serve in Caliche, Honduras the week of January 20th. The team will play a key role in the plan for Communities of Holistic Impact.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to help us listen to the voice of God in the experiences of our everyday humdrum lives.

“You must learn to call on the Lord. Don’t sit all alone or lie on the couch, shaking your head and letting your thoughts torture you. Don’t worry about how to get out of your situation or brood about your terrible life, how miserable you feel, and what a bad person you are…. Fall on your knees, and raise your hands and eyes toward heaven. Read a psalm. Say the Lord’s Prayer, and tearfully tell God what you need.” -Martin Luther
