Short-Term Mission Trips

UALC offers mission trip opportunities through its partnerships with mission organizations. Participants are responsible for their own expenses, but will be given fundraising ideas. Contact the trip organizer for details, or email missions@ualc.org.

Trips coming up:

Each year UALC sponsors short-term mission trips. Each trip has at least one specific focus, such as medical outreach, children's camp or construction.
 
Gambella, Ethiopia, January 15-25, 2020
Healthcare
UALC is planning to send a short-term Medical Mission Team to Ethiopia to work with the Lutheran Church of South Sudan (LCSS). Due to an ongoing conflict within South Sudan, the LCSS is a church in exile, serving many refugees in several countries. The health needs of the refugees are immense. UALC is forming a medical team to visit Gambella, Ethiopia and deliver health services to the war-torn refugees. The team needs doctors and nurse practitioners. If you are interested, please contact a team leader.

Construction, hygiene clinic, and Vacation Bible School
No Spanish necessary, just a servant heart. Must be at least 13, in 8th grade. Apply by Oct. 3. Cost approx $1600. Download the application here.

Medical, Construction, Vacation Bible School
Served our sister churches in the village of Caliche, and Aguas de la Reina. Poured concrete floors, did demo work on a school and children's ministry in the villages.

Construction
Worked on construction projects for local families.

Atlanta, GA Mission Trip for High Schoolers– July 16-25
Workcamp and Vacation Bible School Ministry
The team went backpacking in TN challenging themselves, then spent a week leading their own worksite and VBS in the city of Atlanta, sharing the good news about Jesus in a cross-cultural setting. This was a student-led trip where they learned leadership skills.

Owego, NY Mission Trip for High Schoolers – July 8-14, 2018
Work Camp
Students had opportunities to grow in faith and served families in the community building decks, painting, and getting to know the people in the community.

Caldwell, Ohio, June 6-10, 2018
Construction, Prayer and Care
Served families with construction projects, new beds along with prayer and care. Projects included building and delivering beds, installing a new shower and safety updates for a resident. Read more about the trip and the projects.

Southeast Ohio - Vinton Co., July 10–14, 2017
Construction Projects and Prayer & Care 
Served some two families with porch re-construction projects in the Vinton County area. Offered prayer and care to families we served in previous years. Read more about the trip and projects.

Light construction and Prayer & Care
Served families with a porch repair project, and other construction projects in the Caldwell area. Offered prayer and care to families we served in previous years. Read more about the trip and projects.

Honduras, January 14-21, 2017
Construction and Village Care
Served our sister church in the village of Caliche, and a nearby village, Aguas de la Reina. Focused mainly on community construction projects including building a house, pilas, multiple home repairs along with building community relations.
