Congregational Meeting

Plan to attend our regular spring congregational business meeting. This meeting is required by our Constitution to elect these nominees: for the Nominating Committee 2018-19, Jim Moats and Marcie Seidel; for Council 2018-20, John Ness (Vice-Chair), Amy Adams, Craig Lindberg, Paul Nordman (three year terms) and Andy Geistfeld (one year term). Call Committee, Hilltop, the summer worship plan, and financial reports will also be presented. Sunday, April 29, 12:00 pm at Lytham Road. Nursery care will be available, and a light lunch will be served.

Oromo Evangelical Church Celebration and Dedication

Join in worship, prayer and fellowship at the dedication of the Oromo Evangelical Church on Sunday, April 22 at 3:00 pm, 4888 Refugee Rd NW, Baltimore, Ohio 43105.

O2 Conference is coming to Mill Run on May 12!

If Kickstarter, Ted Talks, and Shark Tank had a baby that grew up in Columbus, it would look like this event. It’s an inspirational Saturday evening event where 12-25 year olds present ideas that meet the needs of the Columbus community. People of all ages buy tickets to attend the event and hear from the presenters. They receive dinner, and a portion of their ticket goes to fund ideas. IFI New Volunteer Training

The New Volunteer General Training is an overview of the International Friendships Inc (IFI) Vision and Values and will teach you the skills you’ll need to relate well to your international friend. May 8,  7:00-9:00 pm at Mill Run. Find IFI information and an application at

Shoes for Hilltop Preschool 

Hilltop Preschool is a Five Star best-practice pre-school, actively changing the lives of four and five-year olds in the Hilltop neighborhood. In addition to social experiences and educational tools, the students are in need of well fitting shoes. Contact Laura Fullen,

All-City Worship Night

800 Dozen Cookies Needed for Kairos

An important part of Kairos Prison Ministry is the sharing of home baked cookies while building strong Christian communities in state and federal prisons. 800 dozen cookies are needed for two upcoming weekends. Please no nuts, raisins or powered sugar and make sure the cookies are cool before placing one dozen in a quart-size plastic zippered storage bag. Please pray over the cookies as you prepare them. Women’s Renewal

At the very least, this Saturday and Sunday event is a time to be served and pampered and fed really well. At the very best these days will change your life forever! This is a time to recommit yourself  to be a disciple of  Jesus and to disciple others. The initial weekend is followed by six months of forming a team to pass along the experience to others. Teen VBS Filming 

Calling all teens! We are filming a VBS volunteer video and we need your help! Come during the time of HSM and MSM to be in the video. Wear a VBS t-shirt. We need as many middle and high schoolers as possible! Sunday, April 22, 4:00-6:00 pm at Mill Run.

Children’s Ministry 

My Bible Workshop 
One way we can equip young people for a life of following Jesus is by helping them learn to read and interpret the Bible on their own. This highly interactive workshop is designed for third and fourth graders, with parents. Older students welcome. Sundays, April 8-May 20, 4:30 pm at Mill Run, fee is $15. Raising a Healthy Baby Workshop
For parents and children newborn to one year old. This is a great workshop to come to after you have gone through our Baptism workshop. Led by pediatrician Dr. Lindsay Wylie and Director of Children's Ministry Andrea Taphorn. Come for a holistic spiritual check-up on your baby. We will talk about developing a plan to disciple your children so that they grow up to knowing they are loved by you, their parents, and by Jesus. Sunday, May 20, 4:00-5:30 pm at Mill Run. Join us for VBS
Join us as on a Kingdom Quest at this year’s Vacation Bible School (VBS). You’ll find a castle with kings, queens, knights and a few surprises. Age specific programs for 18 month olds through sixth grade students. June 11-15, $10 fee, register by June 3. Find details and registration at

Middle School Ministry (MSM)

Apostles’ Creed Next Step Workshop
Designed to clarify what it means to believe in God—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Eighth graders and parents come to understand the meaning of each part of  the Apostles’ Creed and why it is important for Christians. Older students are welcome to attend in order to complete all workshops prior to the Confirmation Capstone. Sundays, April 8–29, 6:30-8:00 pm, fee is $15.
MSM Summer Camp
A great week of  fun, fellowship, and adventure at CIY MIX in Cedarville, Ohio! Live life on Cedarville University’s campus for a week as we learn about what it means to follow Jesus and be a Kingdom Worker, as well as grow in relationship with each other and have a blast together! June 24-28, fee is $445, deadline is April 23.

High School Ministry (HSM)

Summer Opportunity - Children’s Ministry Intern

Applications are now being accepted for a summer intern position with UALC’s Children’s Ministry. If you or someone you know has a passion for connecting children to Christ, please consider applying. The position runs from mid-May through early August. The intern will need to be flexible with their schedule and be available during VBS (June 11-15) and Kids’ Camp (July 15-19). Baptism Workshops

Come to the Baptism Workshop and you can prepare for that next step in your life. Adults, teens, and children of any age are welcome. Parents can learn more about God’s plan for passing faith on to children and how UALC partners with families. Men’s Boot Camp

This isn’t a typical men’s retreat. You won’t be put into small groups. This is a trek into the core of  who you are, into your deep desires. SE Ohio Summer Mission Trip

New Fitness Classes Offered and Teams Forming

Tryout a Christian yoga class, join a softball team, try Tae Kwon Do or many other choices. At UALC, there are many ways to get fit in a Christian environment. Find more information here.

New Support Groups Starting

Support Group for Caregivers
Are you a caregiver? Would it help to have others to talk to and to pray with once or twice a month? We know that care-giving is lonely stuff and we all need the support and encouragement from others who have been there. Let us know if you are interested in hearing more. Let's not keep doing life alone. Contact Jennifer Jerrome, for more information. We will start up as soon as there are a couple people who are interested.
Support Group for Parents of Children with Mental Illness
A support group is forming for parents of children who are navigating mental illness. This confidential group, formed with the intent of supporting one another through discussion and payer. Contact Jennifer Jerrome, with questions and to express your interest.

Adults 65+

Progressive Euchre Card Party (For all ages)
All skill levels are welcome. Every fourth Tuesday of the month (next one is April 24), 1:00-4:00 pm at Lytham Road. Bring a friend and a snack to share. 
Thursday Bible Study
“Who Do You Think You Are?” A Bible Study on aging and self-worth. What determines the value of a person? Is it what they do or who they are? Discover what the Scriptures say about your identity in Christ. Coffee and light snacks available. Thursdays, April 12-May 3, 10:30-11:30 am at Lytham Road. 
Monthly Lunch and Program
Enjoy a delicious catered lunch and fellowship as we listen to Rabbi Howard Silverman of Beth Messiah Congregation in New Albany discussing what it means to be both Jewish and Christian, and what it means for them to follow Jesus as they observe the Torah and Jewish tradition. In-Town Mission Trip
Serve with Eyes Wide Open International, a Christian ministry that runs an orphanage for over 30 children in Haiti. Learn about the ministry and the kids, and sort donations to be sent to make their lives better. Wednesday, April 25, 10:00 am-12:00 pm at 5000 Arlington Centre Blvd.

Volunteers Needed to Help Families

The Family ESL Program is a full family educational program where each family member is taking steps out of poverty through education. Children receive academic support while their parents/grandparents study ESL (English as a Second Language) to help them out of poverty. Volunteers are needed in all areas of the program including Early Childhood, academic support, adult classrooms, supplying light meals and more. Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Mill Run. Donations Needed 

Canned vegetables and baby diapers: Lutheran Social Services bins at Mill Run and Lytham Road.  
Feminine hygiene products: God’s Hygiene Center baskets at Exchange Center at Mill Run and Lytham Road.
Shoes: Watch for details about the Hilltop Preschool shoe drive.
Winter hats and gloves: These items are on sale now, pick some up for next year. Place in baskets at the Mill Run and Lytham Road Connect Centers. 

Quilting Ministry for Missions

Join the Beacons quilting ministry on the second Thursday of each month. All skill levels welcome. 11:30 am at Lytham Road. Contact Sue Logan, through the church office, 614-451-3736.

UALC Quilt Guild (for all ages)

LIFEwalk Ministries

Faith of Our Fathers Discipleship Group
